- Review what a brand's official account has said in public replies.
How to do a Reddit search by user
Reddit's search box has no simple "comments by this person" option, and scrolling a busy profile takes a long time. This tool lists one account's comments directly. Type the username and you get the comments newest first, each with:
- the comment text
- the subreddit it was posted in
- its score and how long ago it was written
- the title of the post it replies to, linked to the thread
The free page shows the 10 most recent comments and cuts each snippet at 280 characters. Sign in to see the full text, sort by top or controversial, and page further back.
To search for a word inside one person's comments, either scan this list or use Reddit Comment Search through the API with the author filter.
What the comment history can and cannot show
The tool returns what Reddit shows publicly for the account, with a few limits:
- Hidden profiles: Reddit lets people hide their activity from their profile. This tool doesn't get around that setting, so a hidden history may come back empty or partial.
- Deleted comments have no text left to show.
- Suspended or banned accounts return nothing. You can check them with the Reddit Account Checker.
- Previews: if the full text isn't available at that moment, the result is marked as a preview. Try again later for the full comment.
For the person's posts instead of comments, use Reddit Post History. For age and karma, use the Reddit profile viewer.
Pull comment history with the API
GET /v1/reddit/users/{name}/comments returns pages of up to 25 comments with a cursor for the next page. AI agents can call it over MCP as the reddit.user_comments tool. The API reference has the full response shape.
