Use cases
- Before writing a blog post, see what people asked about your category in the past year.

- Check whether a question has already been asked before you post it.
How to use this Reddit post search
Reddit's own search box is hard to filter and mixes posts, comments and communities together. This Reddit post search returns only posts. Type a keyword, add a subreddit if you want to stay inside one community, and pick a time window anywhere from the past hour to all time. The free page defaults to the past year so results stay recent enough to act on.
Each result shows the post title (linked to Reddit), the subreddit, the author, the score, the number of comments and how long ago it was posted. The free page shows the first 10 posts. Sign in to see the full page, sort by new, top or most comments, and export the list.
Search operators that work
The search text goes to Reddit as written, so you can use Reddit's own operators inside it:
"exact phrase"matches the words in order.ORmatches either term, as incrm OR "sales pipeline".NOTdrops a word, as incrm NOT salesforce.author:namelimits results to one account.
To limit by community, use the subreddit field instead of typing subreddit: into the query.
When to search comments instead
People ask questions in posts and answer, recommend and complain in comments. To see which tools people suggest, run the same keyword through Reddit Comment Search. For images and videos, use Reddit Media Search. To search Reddit and X together, try Search Everywhere.
From code, call GET /v1/reddit/search or the reddit.search tool over MCP. Each page holds up to 25 posts, plus a cursor for the next one. Details are in the API reference.
