Reddit monitoring: what a check finds right now

Scheduled Reddit monitoring alerts are not available yet. This page runs a one-time check instead: type a brand or keyword and see every mention from the last day.

Each run counts as 3 of your 10 free daily runs.

Updated

Scheduled alerts are not available yet. Here is what a check would find right now.

Get alerts when this launches

We use this email only to tell you about alerts. See the privacy policy.

Run your own alerts today

Until scheduled alerts launch, poll the search endpoint and keep track of what you have already seen. Dedupe on fullname.

# every N minutes, for each keyword:
GET https://chatterapi.com/v1/reddit/search?q=<keyword>&sort=new
# keep the posts whose fullname you have not seen,
# then store the newest createdAt for the next run

20 keywords every hour = 20 x 24 x 1 = 480 credits a day.

How it works

  1. 1Type a brand name, product name or keyword.
  2. 2We search Reddit posts, Reddit comments and X for mentions from the last day.
  3. 3You get the matches newest first. Leave your email to hear when alerts launch.

What you get

  • Platform: Reddit or X
  • Type: post, comment or tweet
  • Text of the mention
  • Author, linked to their profile
  • Subreddit for Reddit items
  • Score
  • Time posted

Use cases

  • See whether anyone talked about your product today before you start the day.
  • Catch a complaint or a question about your brand while it is still fresh.
  • Test which keyword gives clean matches before you set up your own polling.

What Reddit monitoring does today

Reddit monitoring means checking Reddit regularly for new posts and comments that mention your terms. This site doesn't have scheduled alerts yet. What you can do today is a one-time check: type a keyword above and you'll see every match from the last day across Reddit posts, Reddit comments and X, newest first.

The check uses the same engine as Brand Mentions, limited to the past day. It only keeps items whose text contains your term, so a short or generic word may return little. For a longer window, open Brand Mentions and look back a week or a month.

Build your own alerts with the API

You can run your own monitor now with a small script:

  • Call GET /v1/reddit/search?q=yourbrand&sort=new on a timer, for example every 15 or 60 minutes.
  • Each post has a stable id (the t3_ fullname). Keep a list of ids you have already seen and skip them.
  • Store the newest createdAt you processed so a restart picks up where it left off.
  • Send anything new to Slack, email or your own webhook.

Don't skip comments, because many mentions happen in replies rather than posts. Add a second call to Reddit Comment Search with sort=new, since comment search has no time filter. To watch X as well, poll Brand Mentions instead. It covers all three sources in one call.

How often you poll is what drives most of the cost. The panel on this page works out the cost of a polling plan from current prices. Full parameters are at /docs/tools/reddit-search.

What the scheduled version will add

The planned version will check on a schedule set by your plan, skip matches you have already seen, and send new ones to a webhook as they arrive. It is not built yet. Leave your email below and we will write to you once, when it launches.
