- Score and comment count
- Post age
- Media marker for image and video posts
Use cases
- Read a community's front page without signing in or installing the app.
- Sort by top for the past week to see what a subreddit rewards.
- Check the newest posts in a niche community every morning.
- Study titles that did well before you write your own.
How the subreddit viewer works
The subreddit viewer loads a community's feed as a logged-out visitor would see it and shows it as a plain list of title, author, score, comments and age. You don't need a Reddit account, and nothing about your visit is tied to one.
It comes in handy when Reddit keeps pushing you to open the app or log in, or when you want to glance at a feed without the rest of the site around it. Click any title to open the post on Reddit.
This page removes adult posts from the list. Media posts get a small marker instead of loading images or video.
Hot, new or top: which feed to pick
Each feed answers a different question.
- Hot: what the community is talking about right now. Reddit mixes recent posts with ones that are picking up votes quickly, and this is the front page most members see.
- New: every post in the order it was submitted, newest first. Use it to catch posts before they get buried or to see how active a community really is.
- Top: the highest-scoring posts in a time window you choose, from the past day to all time. Top for the past week is the fastest way to learn which formats, tone and length a community rewards.
An empty feed can mean the community is private or just quiet. Switch to top with a longer window to see older posts.
Read subreddit feeds from your code
The API offers the same feeds at /docs/tools/reddit-subreddit-posts, plus rising and controversial. Each call returns a page of posts and a cursor for the next page, so a script or AI agent can follow a community without scraping.
For a community's size, rules and moderators, open Subreddit Stats. To find communities on a topic first, use the Subreddit Finder. To search posts by keyword across Reddit, try Reddit Post Search.
