Updated

How it works

  1. 1Enter your product category and, if you want, up to two competitors.
  2. 2We search recent Reddit posts and comments and score each one for buying intent.
  3. 3You get leads ranked by intent, each with a label, the matched phrases and a link.

What you get

  • Post or comment text
  • Author and subreddit
  • Intent label: asking for a recommendation, comparing tools, complaining about a tool, or other
  • Intent score
  • Matched phrases that explain why it was picked
  • Score, date and link

Use cases

  • Find people asking for a tool like yours this month and reply with a helpful answer.
  • Catch users who are unhappy with a competitor and looking for a way out.
  • Collect the exact words buyers use and put them on your landing page.
  • See which subreddits keep asking about your category before you join them.

How Reddit lead generation works here

Most Reddit lead generation starts with the same manual search: type your category, scroll, and hope someone asked this week. This tool runs that search across posts and comments, then reads each result for intent.

Every result is checked for three buying signals:

  • Asking for a recommendation: "what CRM do you use for a small team?"
  • Comparing tools: "HubSpot vs Pipedrive for a two person agency"
  • Complaining about a tool: "thinking of leaving HubSpot, the pricing jumped"

Each lead gets one of those labels (or "other"), an intent score, and the phrases that matched. That way you can see why it was picked instead of trusting a black box. Add competitors to catch people who name them while looking for a replacement. Results default to the last month.

The free page shows the top five leads. Sign in to see the full page and filter by intent or score.

How to reply without getting banned

Treat a lead as a person with a question rather than a contact to pitch. Read the subreddit rules first; Subreddit Stats shows them. Answer the question that was asked, mention your product only when it fits, and say that you built it. Accounts that drop the same link in many threads get filtered. If your replies stop getting traction, check your account with the Reddit Account Checker.

If you also want leads on X, the Lead Finder searches both platforms in one run.

Run it on a schedule

New leads appear every day. The API returns the same ranked list from GET /v1/reddit/leads, with extra filters for time window, minimum score, excluded words and one subreddit. You can call it from a cron job or from an AI agent over MCP. The API reference lists the parameters and has a sample response.

Questions

What should I type as the category?
What a buyer would ask for, in their own words: crm, cold email, invoicing app. Short phrases work better than your product name.
Why add competitors?
People often name the tool they want to leave. Adding competitors catches posts like "looking for a HubSpot alternative" that a category search can miss.
How is the intent score worked out?
Each post or comment is checked for phrases that signal a request, a comparison or a complaint, and for whether it asks a question. Every lead shows its matched phrases so you can judge it yourself.
Does it post replies for me?
No. It only finds and ranks leads. You read them and decide whether and how to reply.
Is this tool free?
Yes. Each visitor gets 10 free runs a day, and each run shows the first rows of the result. With a free account you see the full page, and the API has no daily cap beyond your credits and rate limit.
Is this affiliated with Reddit?
No. ChatterAPI is independent and not affiliated with Reddit, Inc. or X Corp.
