How it works
- 1Type a Reddit username, with or without u/, or paste a profile URL.
- 2We load the full profile and separately check how Reddit shows the account.
- 3You get one profile card with the stats and a plain status verdict.
What you get
- Username and avatar
- Account creation date and age
- Total, post and comment karma
- Bio, when the account has one
- Badges: verified, moderator, employee, premium
- Account status: visible, suspended, not shown, or unclear
Use cases
- Check a seller's account age and karma before you trade with them.
- Vet a new collaborator or a moderator applicant before you add them.
- See whether an account you plan to reach out to is real and still visible.
- Check your own account's karma split and status before posting in a strict subreddit.
What the Reddit profile viewer shows
On a Reddit profile page the useful numbers are spread around, and some sit behind tabs. This Reddit profile viewer puts them on one card:
- Account age: the creation date and how long ago that was. Many subreddits block accounts younger than a set number of days.
- Karma: the total, split into post karma and comment karma. A high post score with almost no comment karma often belongs to an account that only drops links.
- Bio and avatar, when the account has set them.
- Badges: verified, moderator, Reddit employee and premium, when Reddit reports them.
You don't need to log in, and the account owner isn't notified.
How to read the account status
Each lookup also runs a status check, the same one the Reddit Account Checker uses. It reports how Reddit shows the account to a logged-out visitor:
- Visible to everyone: the account is active.
- Suspended by Reddit: Reddit shows a suspension notice.
- Not shown: Reddit returns nothing for the name. The account may be deleted, banned or shadowbanned. If you can still log into it, it's probably shadowbanned.
- Unclear: Reddit gave no clear answer. Try again later.
Only Reddit knows for sure why an account is hidden. This page runs two checks, so one use counts as two of your free daily runs.
To see what the person writes, open their comment history or their post history. If you don't know the exact username, try Reddit User Search.
Look up accounts in bulk
GET /v1/reddit/users/{name} returns the profile as JSON. Set detail=full to always get bio and badges. You can call it in a loop to analyze a list of accounts, or have an AI agent call the reddit.user tool over MCP. The API reference has the response shape, and /docs/tools/reddit-user-status covers the status check.
