How it works
- 1Type a brand or product name.
- 2We search Reddit posts, Reddit comments and X for the past week.
- 3You get every match in one list, newest first, with a platform badge on each.
What you get
- Platform: Reddit or X
- Type: post, comment or tweet
- Text of the mention
- Author, linked to their profile
- Subreddit for Reddit items
- Score
- Time posted and a link to the original
Use cases
- See what people said about your product this week, good and bad.
- Find a customer question in a Reddit thread and answer it.
- Track a competitor's mentions to learn what users like and dislike about it.
- Catch press or creator mentions you would otherwise miss.
Where brand mentions are found
This tool searches Reddit posts, Reddit comments and X at the same time. Comments matter more than most people expect. A lot of brand mentions are replies deep in a thread ("we switched to Notion last year and..."), and a search that only covers posts misses them.
Results cover the past week and come back in one list, newest first, each with a badge showing where it came from. Retweets are dropped so the same tweet doesn't show up many times. We keep only items whose text contains your brand name, which removes the loose matches keyword search often returns.
If one source is slow or unavailable, you still get results from the others, and the results tell you which source didn't answer.
Getting clean results
A distinctive name gives clean results, while a common word brings in noise. A few habits help:
- Use the name people write. If customers say "Monday" for monday.com, search both through the API, which accepts up to five other spellings.
- Exclude the noise. A brand that shares a word with something else (Apple, Notion, Mercury) needs exclusion words, which the API supports.
- Skip your own accounts. The API can leave out your own Reddit usernames and X handles, so you only see what other people say.
For a quick check of just the last day, the Reddit Monitoring page runs the same search over a shorter window.
Track brand mentions from your code
To track brand mentions over time, call the API at /docs/tools/everywhere-mentions on a schedule. It takes the brand, other spellings, exclusion words, accounts to skip, and a window of a day, a week or a month. Each item has a stable id, so a script can remember what it has already seen and send only new mentions to Slack or email.
For a broader topic search instead of a brand, use Search Everywhere. To find people who are ready to buy and not just talking, try the Lead Finder.
