Removeddit alternative
Removeddit showed removed Reddit comments and threads when you changed a Reddit URL. On Oct 17, 2026, removeddit.com served an unrelated page with no Reddit tool, and its code had not changed since 2019. ChatterAPI reads live Reddit only, so it cannot show text that moderators removed or authors deleted. Only archives that captured a comment before it was removed still have it, such as Arctic Shift and the Pushshift dumps.
What Removeddit is
- Its README describes a site for viewing removed comments and threads by replacing reddit with removeddit in a URL. source
- It compared Pushshift's data with Reddit's API to find what had been removed. source
- The front end's last commit was on Dec 5, 2019, and the back end was last updated on Dec 8, 2022. source
- On Oct 17, 2026, removeddit.com redirected to a page with unrelated content and no Reddit tool. source
When Removeddit is the better choice
- You are studying its open source code.
- You want to host your own copy on top of an archive you already have.
When ChatterAPI fits
- You want a user's current public comments and posts, which our free Reddit comment history viewer shows without an account.
- You want to search live Reddit posts and comments by keyword, subreddit and time.
- You want to catch new posts and comments as they appear, by polling search on a schedule from code or an AI agent.
- You also need X data with the same key.

What to use now that Removeddit doesn't work
- For removed or deleted text, use an archive that captured it before removal. We can't recover it.
- For what a user has public right now, call the user comments endpoint with their username.
- For new content, search comments by keyword on a schedule and store what you find. Anything you saved stays with you if it is removed later.

Does Removeddit still work?
No. On Oct 17, 2026, removeddit.com showed an unrelated page with no Reddit tool. Its code had not been updated since 2019.
Can ChatterAPI show removed Reddit comments?
No. It reads live Reddit. Since Reddit's change around September 2025, comments a moderator removes no longer appear in the author's public history either, so we can't show removed or deleted text.
Where can I find a deleted Reddit comment?
Only in an archive that saved it before it was deleted, such as Arctic Shift or the Pushshift data dumps. Coverage of recent content varies.
Is there a working replacement for Removeddit?
reveddit is still online, and its browser extension can tell you when your own content is removed. For other people's removed comments, archives are the only source.
