How Twitter lead generation works here
Most Twitter lead generation advice is about building an audience. This tool covers the other half by finding people who are already looking. Enter your category, such as "crm" or "cold email", and it searches recent tweets for phrases buyers use, like "looking for", "any recommendations" or "alternative to".
Every tweet it finds gets an intent score and one of three labels:
- Asking for a recommendation: someone wants a tool and is asking which one.
- Comparing tools: someone is weighing two or more options.
- Complaining about a tool: someone is unhappy with what they use now.
The score shows how strongly the tweet matches those patterns. Matched phrases are highlighted so you can see why it was picked, and leads are sorted strongest first.
If you add up to two competitors, the search also catches tweets that name them, which is where most switching conversations happen. By default it looks back over the last month and keeps English tweets.
Replying without being spammy
Treat a lead as a person with a question rather than a target. Answer the question first. Mention your product only if it fits, and say that you made it. Keyword matching can pick up jokes, job posts and sarcasm, so skip those. Reply while the question is fresh, since older threads get little attention.
For a wider net, run the same search on Reddit too with the Lead Finder. To search tweets yourself with operators, use X Tweet Search. To check a lead's profile before replying, open them in the X User Lookup.
Run lead searches from your code
The same search runs through the API at /docs/tools/x-leads, with extra options: exclude words, set the time window, choose which intents to return and set a minimum score. A script or an AI agent can run it every day and send new leads to your CRM or Slack.
