Check Twitter mentions of any handle

Enter a handle to see its recent Twitter mentions. These are tweets that tag the account, listed newest first, with who wrote them and how they did.

Updated

How it works

  1. 1Enter the X handle you want to check, with or without the @.
  2. 2We fetch recent tweets that mention that handle from X.
  3. 3You get each mention with its author, text, date and engagement.

What you get

  • Tweet text, link, date and language
  • Likes, retweets, replies, quotes and bookmarks
  • Views, when X provides them
  • Whether it is a reply, and the tweet it replies to
  • Author name, handle, bio, follower count and DM status

Use cases

  • See what people said to a competitor's account this week.
  • Catch support questions aimed at your brand account that nobody answered.
  • Find fans who tag you, so you can thank them or ask for a testimonial.
  • Check how people react to a product launch from the replies and tags it gets.

How the Twitter mentions check works

Twitter mentions are tweets that include an account's @handle, which covers direct replies to the account and posts that tag it. Enter any public handle and the tool returns its recent mentions, newest first. The account doesn't have to be yours. You can check a competitor, a partner or a public figure as easily as your own brand.

Each mention comes with the tweet text, link, date and engagement counts, plus a profile of the person who wrote it: name, handle, bio, follower count and whether they accept DMs. Views appear when X provides them. The author's profile helps you decide what to do about a mention. For example, a complaint from an account with a large audience deserves a faster reply.

Mentions without the @

Many people name a brand without tagging it. X doesn't count those tweets as mentions, so this tool won't see them. To catch them:

  • Search the brand name with X Tweet Search, for example a quoted name with the handle excluded.
  • Use Brand Mentions to look for the name on X and Reddit together.

To find people who are asking for a product like yours without naming one, try the X Lead Finder.

Track mentions on a schedule

This page is a one-off check. To track Twitter mentions over time, have a script or an AI agent call the API at /docs/tools/x-mentions every so often. Store the newest tweet id you've seen and only act on tweets newer than that. Each call returns one page and a cursor for older mentions.

Questions

Can I check mentions of an account I do not own?
Yes. Mentions are public tweets, so you can check any public handle.
Does this catch tweets that name a brand without the @?
No. Only tweets with the @handle count as mentions. Use X Tweet Search or Brand Mentions to find the name on its own.
Does this send me alerts?
No. Each run is a one-off check. For ongoing tracking, call the API on a schedule and keep the newest tweet id you've seen.
Are mentions from private accounts included?
No. Tweets from protected accounts are hidden from the public, so they never show up in the results.
Is this tool free?
Yes. Each visitor gets 10 free runs a day, and each run shows the first rows of the result. With a free account you see the full page, and the API has no daily cap beyond your credits and rate limit.
Is this affiliated with X?
No. ChatterAPI is independent and not affiliated with Reddit, Inc. or X Corp.
