See who retweeted any tweet

Paste a tweet link to see who retweeted it. You get the accounts that shared the tweet, each with a bio, follower count and DM status.

Updated

How it works

  1. 1Paste a tweet link from x.com or twitter.com, or the tweet id.
  2. 2We fetch the first page of accounts that retweeted it from X.
  3. 3You preview the first rows here. Sign in to page through the rest and export them.

What you get

  • Name, handle and account id
  • Bio, location and website
  • Followers, following and tweet count
  • Verified and blue check badges
  • Accepts DMs: yes, no or unknown
  • Avatar and join date

Use cases

  • Find out which accounts with a real audience shared your post.
  • List the people who retweeted a competitor's announcement.
  • Thank the accounts that spread your launch tweet.
  • Build an outreach list of people who already care about a topic.

How to see who retweeted a tweet

X shows a retweet count under every post, but getting to the accounts behind it takes several taps and a long scroll. To see who retweeted a tweet, paste its link above. The tool returns one row per account that retweeted it, each with a full profile: name, handle, bio, location, website, follower and following counts, badges, join date and whether the account accepts DMs.

It works on any public tweet, whether it's yours or someone else's. You don't need to log in to X.

A free run shows the first rows of one page. To export the full list to CSV you need a free account, so sign in to export or page through it with the API. Protected accounts don't appear, and the list can come back shorter than the retweet count when X leaves accounts out.

Why retweeters are worth knowing

When someone retweets a post, they're publicly saying it was worth showing their own followers. That makes retweeters useful in a few ways:

  • Find your amplifiers. Sort by follower count to see which shares reached the most people.
  • Warm outreach. People who retweeted a post in your niche already care about the topic. Check that they accept DMs first.
  • Competitor research. The people who retweeted a rival's launch are paying attention to that space right now.
  • Say thanks. A short reply to the people who shared your work goes a long way.

Quote tweets aren't retweets and don't appear here. To read what people said, use the Tweet Replies Exporter. For the tweet's own counts, use the X Tweet Lookup.

Export the full list from the API

The same call is available through the API at /docs/tools/x-retweeters. Each call returns one page plus a cursor for the next, so a script or an AI agent can collect every retweeter and filter by bio, followers or DM status.

Questions

Can I see who retweeted someone else's tweet?
Yes. Retweets are public, so the tool works on any public tweet, not just your own.
Why is the list shorter than the retweet count?
Protected accounts are hidden. X also doesn't always return every account behind the count, especially deleted or suspended ones.
Does this include quote tweets?
No. Quote tweets are separate posts. To find them, search the tweet link with X Tweet Search.
Does the person who retweeted get notified?
No. The tool only reads public data and never contacts anyone.
Is this tool free?
Yes. Each visitor gets 10 free runs a day, and each run shows the first rows of the result. With a free account you see the full page, and the API has no daily cap beyond your credits and rate limit.
Is this affiliated with X?
No. ChatterAPI is independent and not affiliated with Reddit, Inc. or X Corp.
